Believe it or not, I have only left my religion in less than a year, I had my doubts about God and religion for a long time. I considered myself an agnostic christian for a long time, mostly of how churchs and the people that went to them acted, but that is another story.
For me to really question God started as a discussion with my sister on evolution and creation, I believed in evolution but never quite understood what it meant. It the end we agreed that both should be taught on schools because evolution was just theory. After that I thought to myself, I should learn more about this. All sites I went to always called it the theory of evolution, then one guy on reddit said. Evolution is a fact. That's all he said. I didn't know what to think, was he wrong or is it a fact? He is right, it is a fact. After some research on the internet, I figured out my belief in God was not rational, praying does not work, hell is just a threat to control people.
I didn't have any courage to come out and say "I'm an atheist!", I was scared of what people would think, remember, this is Brazil, in Brazil people hate atheist more than criminals, to religious people we are worse than criminals. I watched some videos on youtube, the Atheist Experience, after watching a few episodes, I actually got some confidence to come out, and I did, on facebook. At first I thought, I'm gonna have a few people send me some angry email. It didn't happen. All that happen was my family saying "Oh what is this atheist bullshit on your facebook? Take it down". Them saying that actually made me post even more stuff on facebook. Other than a few debates with my family, everything has been calm. I still don't tell everyone I'm an atheist, mostly because it never comes out, and I stay away from religious conversations as much as possible. Though I find it amusing when two christian argue about the meaning of a passage in the bible.
There might be a part 2 of this later on, keep tuned.

Gender role in Marriage
I'm not a woman, nor do I speak for them. I'll get that out there first, this is just my view on gender roles in a marriage
I have recently read this post on facebook, it was written by a pastor.
In my opinion, gender roles in marriage are out of date, everyone in the family has the same responsability, there is no "Head" of the household. In this modern world thinking like that will not get you far in life, all you are doing is limiting a person.
Hopefully, more people will give up this notion of "head of the household" idea.
Tell me what you think on the comments, I'll be happy to read your comments.

MALE LEADERSHIP IN THE FAMILY
We live in a serious crisis of leadership in the family. The roles are confused. Men have abandoned their trenches and delegate women leadership spiritual family. Despite the important role of women and mothers in the home, it is the husband, the father, the spiritual leadership of the family. It is the responsibility of the parent to raise children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. God placed man as head of the home and the woman as his helper. Reverse these roles is not a sensible attitude. Joshua, the great leader of Israel, gives us his testimony, when he said: "I and my house we will serve the Lord." Today God calls you, husband, father to you, to take his place of spiritual leadership of your home. You must love his wife as Christ loved the church and raise their children in the fear of the Lord.
There is not much to say how wrong this is. This pastor is saying women are just helper and that the men are the leaders and the spiritual teacher of the household, this is a very conservative view on the family. Pretty much all religions has teaching like this one, it the only thing they agree with. The wife is just a proprety on the husband, a tool to better his wife. In the bible, role of a women is just to be there to support the husband in is life, and give him children.
The comments for this post were scary to read. Most, if not all, people agreed with this, but why? Do women really think like that? Do they think they should not be treated as an equal in marriage? Do they even want to be treated as equal? Not only that, they try to justify it.
If I were to say
"Men are head of a household, and is wife is there only to help him succeed"
and not mention the bible, God, or religion, it would raise some eyebrows.

Hi! I'm RPG2. In this blog I'll be writing down my views on Christianity and its teaching.
Though I don't agree with most, if not all, of the teachings, I'll try to be fair to it, but I'll not pull any punches, if I offend you in anyway, I don't care, I'll not apologize to you.
PS: Yes, my grammar is terrible, I don't care.
